NAS/UWT and HAS will be represented at the meeting of the LNCT .

ITEM 2 MATTERS ARISING
It was noted that paragraph 3 on page 5 of the minute of the 26/11/02 had not been acted upon. It was agreed to raise this at the meeting.
ITEM 3 MCCRONE SETTLEMENT AND PROMOTED POST STRUCTURES
The paper on Promoted posts in Highland Schools was discussed and it was decided that the paper could not be agreed to as it stood.
The meeting agreed that the Teachers’ Side would be willing to discuss section 6, which dealt with SNCT 14, and to indicate willingness to take discussions further.
Changes to section 6 were proposed and the Panel agreed to attempt to progress them at the meeting.
ITEM 4 SUPPORT STAFF
The meeting agreed to ask for clarification of teacher input to the working group on Support Staff in Highland Schools.
ITEM 5 ADDITIONAL PRIMARY SPECIALIST TEACHERS
The meeting agreed to seek details of the pilot in Nairn on additional Primary Specialist teachers.
ITEM 6 CURRICULUM FLEXIBILITY
The Panel welcomed the paper on Curriculum Flexibility and thanked S. Dowds for his part in this.
ITEM 7 TOWARDS A HEALTHIER HIGHLAND
The meeting agreed to raise the use of smart cards in supporting a healthier life style and query support for colleagues in their attempts to stop smoking. The proposal to ban smoking in all schools would be questioned at the meeting.
ITEM 10 SCHOOL TERM DATES
The school calendar 2004/05 was queried and the issue would be raised at the meeting.
